Nara Lokesh is All Praise for Pawan Kalyan

Minister Nara Lokesh took to his X handle to thank Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for getting four Kumki elephants from the Karnataka government.

He lauded the efforts of Pawan Kalyan in getting the Kumki elephants to end the problems of the farmers in Chittoor district. During Yuva Galam, the farmers from Palamneru shared the problems they faced due to rogue elephants, Lokesh wrote in his tweet.

Pawan anna took the initiative and spoke to the Karnataka government regarding the matter and successfully completed it. I also thank the Karnataka government for offering more Kumki elephants, wrote Lokesh.

On Wednesday, Pawan Kalyan receiving four Kumki elephants from the Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah made headlines. It is known that the Deputy CM also holds the portfolio of Forests & Environment.

If one goes back a little, an MoU was signed between AP and Karnataka regarding 8 Kumki elephants. Of that 4 were received on Wednesday. Two will come next month.

Why the Kumki elephants? For the unversed, the Kumki elephants will be used to control rogue elephants that barge into farmlands, ransack fields and attack people. The problem has been going on for 20 years in AP.

The Kumki elephants will help mitigate human-elephant conflict. Pawan Kalyan said Karnataka has done an excellent job in mitigating the problem and we are learning from them. He said he will personally oversee their well-being.




The elephants will be used across Chittoor, Parvathipuram manyam and other north coastal districts.
