Andhra Pradesh government seem to be finally arriving at a clarity on the land pooling system for the next capital of the state. It is tentatively said that government will offer 1000 square yards of developed land for every one acre surrendered to the government. The 1000 square yards is a tentative figure and may go up by another 100 or 200 square yards according to the demands of the farmers. This cost of developed land will be three times at least more than that of what farmers get selling the one acre.

The capital development is expected to take two and half years time and during this time, the farmers will be paid 25000 per acre as annuity. They will also get stamp duty, registration fees, and Nala conversion charges waived off, if they purchase any other land in the state. The Cabinet sub-committee on land pooling will tour Krishna and Guntur districts on October 17, 18 and 19 to identify lands for construction of capital city. They will be interacting with the farmers and explain the benefits of land pooling. Sources in the government say it will also be forced to consider the option of land acquisition if farmers do not give their lands.
