Land Pooling -A major challenge in Vijayawada!

As the Chief Minister announced the next capital of Andhra Pradesh coming near Vijayawada, the officials have started working on the land pooling to acquire the land for the capital. According to this policy, farmers share their lands with the government do not receive compensation but will get a share in the developed lands. The farmers will be given a 40% share in the developed lands.

To keep it more simple, if government takes one acre (100 cents) from a farmer, 40 cents of it will be left for roads, drains and community spaces and in the remaining 60 cents, the farmer will get 24 cents (40%) and the government will take 36 cents (60%) from each acre acquired from the farmers. Chandra Babu’s vision is to have a model capital in 50000 acres which means the land pooling will be so difficult as the government has to acquire 150000 acres from the farmers or private parties. We will have to see how Chandra Babu handles this challenge
