Innovation and investment will come together in AP, said IT Minister Nara Lokesh. He spoke after ground breaking ceremony of the LG Electronics Unit in Sri City.

He said they were taking steps to make AP an electronics powerhouse with each job they are creating and every innovation. We are laying the foundation not just for LG but AP, said the IT Minister.

This is not just about a construction, it is symbolic of country’s technological and industrial growth. With Rs 5000 crore investment, LG has brought world-class manufacturing facility. ‘Made in Andhra to made for the world’ will be our mission, said Lokesh.

The IT Minister said LG was among the first international facilities to become operational in AP. Growth in industrial sector, provision of good infrastructure are part of CM Chandrababu’s commitment. We are easing the process of doing business while focusing on ‘speed of doing business’, said Lokesh.

LG will be manufacturing smart appliances in the facility. The government of AP has provided 247 acres land for LGEIL, which is expected to create 1900 direct and indirect jobs.




The plant will be spread across 1 million sq mts with a total floor area of 220,000 sq mts. The Rs 5000 crore investment to be done in phases will promote the growth of ancillary units in the region, creating a white goods manufacturing ecosystem in the state.
