
The Telangana government is thinking of different ways to get revenues. Now it looks like it will fill its coffers with money made from liquor shops.
It is being said that the government is in the process of giving licenses to over 60 bars across the state.

In all, 2620 wine shops, 1171 bars, pubs and elite bars are operational in the state. While over 30 bars are coming up newly, over 30 bars had been shut down and are being revived.
In all, it is being said that the excise department is in the process of giving licenses to over 60 bars across the state.

Incidentally, Telangana is the biggest beer guzzling state in India. And Indian states are world’s biggest alcohol consuming market in volume in the world.
It’s good news for alcohol consumers and bar owners as it means business. The government too will rake in revenues, which is a welcome move for procuring revenues.
