Telugu Desam Party will have its Annual Conclave ‘Mahanadu’ on the occasion of its founder, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s Jayanthi on May 28th every year.

But then, in 2024, the results were out on June 4th. Since the leaders and cadre were preparing for the counting, the Mahanadu was not conducted.

TDP had secured a Sensational Victory in that election.

TDP and allies bagged 164 out of the 175 seats in the State Assembly. This is the biggest mandate ever in the history of Andhra Pradesh even if considering the Sensational Victories registered by NT Ramarao himself.

So this year’s Mahanadu is going to be very grand. TDP’s Politburo had decided to have the coming Mahanadu for two days in the Kadapa district.

This is a very good decision as it will send a positive message that TDP is serious about Kadapa district, the stronghold of YSR Congress.

The Reddy Community is a dominant force in the Politics here. It was a bastion of Congress during the YSR’s rule and later it was passed on to the YSR Congress after his demise.

In the 2014 elections where the YSR Congress lost, the party won 30 out of the total 52 seats in Rayalaseema. In the rest of the Andhra, the party managed to win 37 out of the 123 seats.

In the 2019 elections where the YSR Congress won, the party registered victory in a whopping 49 seats out of the total 52 seats in Rayalaseema.

Cut to the recent elections, the situation is completely alarming for Jagan.

It looks like the Kadapa Fort is crumbling.

In the recent Assembly elections, the YSR Congress is left only with three seats out of the total ten seats. Even Jagan’s majority was reduced in this election.

One of the three seats is Jagan’s seat, and another seat is due to BJP fielding a weak candidate.

By having Mahanadu here, Chandrababu is sending a message that it is serious about strengthening the party in the district and denying any chance of revival for YSR Congress.
