March 12th will be a crucial day in the history of Andhra Pradesh as the government gears up to table its first full fledged budget after the state bifurcation. Several challenges await the truncated state in the form of looming deficit, capital construction and the welfare schemes. The state is already finding it difficult to even manage the salaries of its employees and had pinned all its hopes on the helping hand of the Center.
The real picture of the state finances can only be seen on the budget tabled on March 12th. The budget session of the state will begin from March 7th. The government is also planning to table the separate agriculture budget and it will be put up on March 13th. Governor will address the assembly on March 7th and the regular sessions will begin on 9th.
Already department wise proposals are being tabled and the finance ministry is fine tuning all of them. However all the proposals will be finalized only after the Union budget is tabled on February 28th. The state hopes the center to make key announcements on helping the deficit budget state with special status, special packages and other tax incentives as promised in Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act.
