Modi’s controversial Suit gives befitting answer

auction for modi suit earned 4 croresPrime Minister Narendra Modi’s Controversial 10 Lakh worth pinstripe monogrammed suit attracted a final price of 4.31 Crore at the auction. From the first bid of Rs. 51 lakh on Wednesday, a Gujarat based businessman, Dharmanandan Group owner Hitesh Patel made the highest offer of Rs 4.31 crore to purchase the controversial suit that Modi wore during US President Barack Obama’s visit to India last month.

The suit had triggered a national debate and the Prime Minister was slammed by his political opponents — especially the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party — for wearing an expensive suit that some reports said cost nearly Rs 10 lakh. Later the Prime Minister decided that the suit along with 455 other gifts he received during his tenure as PM so far will go for an auction.

In fact there was a 5 Crore bid but it came after the auction time 5 PM. The money that raised from this auction will be spent for the Clean Ganga Mission. The three day auction ended a short while ago. The suit fetching such big sum for charity will silence the opposition who are trying to hound the Prime minister on this issue.
