Narendra Modi had taken the social media by a storm in 2014 and effectively used the platform to attract youth towards BJP. Every one agrees that Modi’s stint on social media in 2014 played a very crucial role in bringing BJP back to power.

And that success story of Modi on effective use of social media platform in the run-up to the elections is now part of Mumbai University’s curriculum. Interestingly, Mumbai University’s Vice chancellor Rajan Welukar on December 23, 2013, refused to grant permission for Narendra Modi’s copter to land on the varsity’s Kalina campus ground.
Interestingly the same Vice Chancellor recommended Modi’s success to be taught to students in the revised curriculum for BA-Sociology (1st year). The chapter will also cover the economical and social dimensions of social media which is increasing by leaps and bounds, connecting millions from across the world. The revised curriculum will come in to force from 2015-16 academic year.
