Munugode Bypoll: Costliest Election In Telugu States

The polling for Munugode By-election is happening on Thursday. The election is touted to be the costliest in the history of Telugu politics.

Interestingly, the elected candidate will only have one year term and even less if KCR decides to go for an early election.

It is considered the semifinal for the 2023 assembly election. Whichever party wins will go to the assembly election with confidence. 298 polling booths were arranged with 105 of them marked as troublesome.

1,198 polling staff will be on duty while 5,000 police personnel were deployed.

Liquor worth 200 Crore was consumed in the constituency in the last month. All the villages were filled with heaps of empty liquor bottles.

In some places, we have seen people protesting before the houses of the political leaders demanding 10 grams of Gold and 10,000 Rupees for each vote. They are threatening the parties that they would not vote if their demands are not met.

Buzz in the Political circles is that the political parties are ready to spend anywhere between 3000 to 5000 rupees for each vote.

The counting will happen on November 6th and it is going to be a tug-of-war between TRS and BJP.

Kosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy is the TRS candidate. Komatireddy Raja Gopal Reddy resigned from Congress and is now the BJP candidate. Palvai Sravanthi is the Congress candidate.
