Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has filed a defamation case against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha in the Nampally Court, citing remarks that allegedly tarnished the reputation and honor of his family.
The controversy stems from comments made by Konda Surekha regarding the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, which caused a stir across the Telugu states.
These allegations were strongly rejected by Nagarjuna, his family, and Samantha, who all labeled them as baseless.
KTR also took legal action against Surekha, demanding that she retract her statement, which she has since done.
Despite the retraction, the Akkineni family proceeded with legal action, issuing a notice to Surekha, with the Telugu Film Chamber also drafting a separate notice on their behalf.
Among the shocking claims made by Surekha was the allegation that KTR had asked Samantha to be “sent” to him in exchange for stopping the demolition of Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre.
When Samantha refused, Surekha suggested, it led to her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. She also claimed that Nagarjuna pressured Samantha to comply with KTR’s demand.
These comments have caused significant outrage and have brought unwanted attention to both the Akkineni family and Samantha.
The controversy surrounding Surekha’s allegations has added to the ongoing scrutiny, raising concerns about the implications of personal issues being drawn into political discourse.
