Finally the meeting of both the Telugu Chief Ministers solved the water tussle. Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao met today in the presence of the Governor. Telangana government agreed to resume the water supply till March 31st. While Andhra Pradesh demanded for 15 TMC of water, finally they have agreed up on 10 TMC.
Telangana government had ordered immediate release of 5000 Cuseus of water in to the right canal of Nagarjuna Sagar. After the meeting, irrigation ministers of both the states made a common statement about the agreed terms. They have reiterated that both the states are committed to the interests of farmers on both the states. Both the Chief Ministers agreed to meet once again to discuss on future water sharing.
On the other side, Telangana police have taken control over Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. Telangana imposed a condition that Police and Politicians of Andhra Pradesh should not go near the dam. It is reliably learnt that Chandrababu requested governor to give CRPF protection to the dam.
