However reports are emerging that Center is not keen on giving the special Status to the state due to the technical issues but promised Naidu to give any equivalent Special Package to compensate the loss. Naidu had held a series of meetings with his senior bureaucrats in the past few days to decide the quantum of package they should seek from the center.
According to a National tabloid, Naidu will be asking a package equivalent to 2 Lakh Crore. Recently the central government had announced a package worth 1.65 Lakh Crore just ahead of the crucial assembly elections towards the end of the year.
