According to officials, AP currently has 1,685 One-Star, 15,618 Two-Star, 19,099 Three-Star and 7,172 Four-Star schools.

Lokesh asked officials to upgrade all One-Star schools to Two-Star level within a year. Zero-Star schools should reach at least One-Star level during the current academic year.

Officials have also been asked to prepare a plan for 1,000 Five-Star schools. The government plans to develop 175 LEAP schools, one in each Assembly constituency.

Special attention will be given to schools in agency and backward areas, with a focus on better infrastructure, technology and learning facilities.
