Lokesh met Tesla’s CFO, Vaibhav Taneja, who was promoted to chief financial officer in August 2023 under Elon Musk.

They met at Tesla’s headquarters in Austin and discussed opportunities for Tesla to invest in Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing that Anantapur is a strategic location for the EV sector and urging investments.
He stressed the need for assistance and collaboration from top global companies like Tesla to achieve this goal.

Lokesh noted that his father, Chandrababu Naidu, worked extensively for the development of the automobile industry, bringing companies like Kia and Hero Motors to the state.
Now, he is focusing on electric vehicle manufacturing, renewable energy, and green energy sectors. The Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh is set to become a strategic location for Tesla’s EV manufacturing and battery production units.
