Nara Lokesh officially took charge as the Working President of the Telugu Desam Party in a grand oath-taking ceremony held at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri.

The newly announced committees reflect a clear attempt to balance experience with fresh leadership. Around 250 members have been included across different levels, marking one of the largest expansions in recent times. Notably, for the first time, mandal presidents and cluster in-charges have been given representation in the politburo, indicating a stronger focus on grassroots leadership.

This shift is seen as a significant structural move within the party, aiming to bring those working at the ground level closer to decision-making.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu said the party has one of the strongest cadres in the country and has overcome multiple challenges over its 44-year journey. He emphasized that the pride of the party flag has remained intact and called for a stronger performance in the upcoming elections.

He also reiterated the party’s core idea that a worker is the leader. According to him, the new structure reflects this approach, with opportunities given to both senior leaders and emerging faces based on their contribution and commitment.

Lokesh’s appointment as Working President is seen as an important step in strengthening the party’s organisational framework. It signals a greater role for younger leadership while maintaining continuity with experienced leaders.

With this move, the party appears to be focusing on expanding its base, energising its cadre and preparing for future electoral challenges.

By bringing grassroots voices into the core structure, the party is not just reorganising, it is redefining how it connects with its cadre.
