nara-lokesh-Eagle To Battle Ganja

The Andhra Pradesh government is taking active steps to curb the drug culture in the state. According to the reports, ganja cultivation and consumption increased during the YCP regime. However, since the NDA came to power, the government has been implementing strict measures to control drug-related activities.

Today, a cabinet sub-committee meeting was held to discuss drug and narcotics control. During the meeting, IT, Education and HRD Minister, Nara Lokesh declared war against narcotics and drug-related activities.

He also announced the renaming of the AP Anti-Narcotics Taskforce to “Eagle.” Eagle will continue to actively monitor drug peddling across the state. He also ordered the formation of “Eagle” committees in schools, colleges, and secretariats, comprising 10 members, including women’s groups and ASHA workers.

In a groundbreaking decision, the minister declared that families involved in selling ganja would not get any welfare scheme benefit from the state government. This was a strong move which was not taken in any state in the country as of now.
