Modi Saab, This Is Not Fair!

During the election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised a Delhi like Capital for Andhra Pradesh. Section 94(3) of Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act mandates Central government to fund the expenses of the capital construction. Accordingly, all the government buildings like Raj Bhavan, High Court, Secretariat, Assembly were to be funded by the center.

All the infrastructure in the capital was to be funded by the Center as well. Till date, Center has given 1050 Crore as a part of Capital Assistance. The other day, Center announced another 450 Crore in this account. Taking the total to 1500 Crore. But the Finance Ministry claims that the 1000 Crore given by Urban Development Ministry for Underground drainage System in Vijayawada and Guntur also comes under this account.

That means the total comes to 2500 Crore. Niti Aayog earlier recommended 2500 Crore for Capital Construction. If Center sticks to its recommendation, then Andhra Pradesh may not get any more funds from the Center for the Capital Construction. 2500 Crore for a Delhi like Capital? Modi Saab, This is not fair!
