Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to chair the first ever paperless cabinet meeting of the central government in January. All the files that are submitted to cabinet including cabinet notes will be submitted in electronic format.
Andhra Pradesh government under N Chandrababu Naidu already set an example of holding the first e-cabinet meeting with only tablets and e-devices and no papers. The Prime Minister’s Office have touch based with Andhra Pradesh officials and has taken inputs from the e-cabinets being conducted in the state.
E-governance, digitization and more use of technology is the motto of Modi’s government and the Prime Minister vows to convert all the departments in to paperless very soon. An attempt in that direction is already being made by Naidu in Andhra Pradesh. PMO officials are already busy in the process of digitalizing and computerizing all the hard copies of bulky Cabinet files (notes)
