Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be laying the foundation stone for the permanent buildings of NIT on 26th of this month. The state government had allotted 172 acres of Airport lands in Tadepalligudem for the NIT.
Union Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani and Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu will also grace the event. On the same day, the classes of NIT will begin in the temporary accommodation at Vasavi Engineering college, Peda Tadepalli.
The center had accorded NIT to Andhra Pradesh after the state division with the option of setting up it a location requested by the state government. Chandrababu Naidu set it up in West Godavari as a gesture of gratitude to the district’s voters who gave his party all the Assembly and LS seats in the 2014 elections.
