No MoU, Rs 45,000 Cr Direct Investments

IT Minister Nara Lokesh is back from Singapore. He said that they brought in Rs 45,000 crore in investments spread over a period of 5 years.

He spoke to media in Secretariat. Lokesh said they didn’t sign mere MoUs, but brought direct investments. The IT Minister said they invited Accelor Mittal through Zoom call. AP will have the biggest steel plant and data centres in India, shared Lokesh.

Between 2019-24, Jagan ruined AP’s economy. Singapore asked to develop Amaravati on joint basis. Without listening to what their government was saying, Jagan’s government cancelled agreements. Singapore leads in showing a path for development. They labeled them as corrupt.

Jagan drove away various companies like Amar Raja, Lulu and many others. But Karnataka has Bengaluru, Tamil Nadu has Chennai and AP has Chandrababu. We decided to put Vizag on the IT map, said Lokesh.

We gave an acre of land for 99 paise to TCS. YSRCP went to Court regarding it. We wanted to get employment for our people. What is wrong with it? We got more investments in 14 months than YSRCP got in 5 years, said the IT Minister.

A person by the name of Murali Krishna sent emails to the Singapore government asking them not to invest in AP. He wrote soon the government will change in AP. Murali Krishna has ties with YSRCP.

In Tamil Nadu, DMK and AIADMK work together for investments. It is not the case in AP. If one sends such letters, who will come forward to invest? Finally, it’s Telugu people who will miss out on development, said Lokesh.
