Manohar said they will stop illegal transportation of PDS rice with an iron foot. The Minister also gave an update about Deepam 2 saying the money will be deposited before consumers make a booking.

Manohar pointed out that the past government completely destroyed the PDS system. They bought 9000 vans and wasted Rs 18 crore of public money.

People suffered during past government’s time, he went on to say. We tried to figure out how the rice was transported. The vans led to rice mafia. Even the van drivers became part of the rice syndicate. So, there will not be any ration vans henceforth, said Nadendla Manohar.
