Most reliable sources of M9.news within the State government informed us that there will not be a Special Status announcement for Andhra Pradesh in the upcoming Union budget. It is said that the state government is already informed about it and Chandrababu Naidu almost let his hopes go.
We are said that there is a possibility of increasing the current 15% input subsidy to 30% as an eye wash. It is known the Center had already announced 15% input subsidy to the industries that will be established in backward areas of both the Telugu states in the next 5 years. However this increase in input subsidy is not at all enough to encourage investors in the state.
It is known that Special Status to Andhra Pradesh was promised when the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act is passed in the parliament. The then UPA government promised it for 5 years and then BJP went to the elections promising it for 10 years. But they are conveniently ignoring it now telling that it will need the consensus for all the states in the country.
