Nothing Hi-tech about Hitech City roads!

The glittering and swaky roads of Hitech City may not be of the standards when come to the road safety. Cyberabad region between January and September this year, had witnessed a staggering 2,962 road accidents that left as many as 859 people dead.

These figures reveal the pathetic condition of the traffic situation in the IT corridor. The 500 traffic junctions in Cyberabad limits, only 180 are manned by Police personnel aiding frequent traffic violations and mishaps.

Currently the Traffic police are manning the high density junctions within Cyberabad limites, leaving the junctions in the peripheral areas unmanned. Only 40 per cent of the total 3,700 sq km of area falling under Cyberabad is being manned by Traffic Police.
