Today is the Black Day. This is the day 20 years ago, Babri Masjid was brought down in Ayodhya. From then, Muslims observe 6th December as Black Day. Muslim dominated areas in the country witness several riots on this day due to several antisocial elements. Old City in Hyderabad is one such area. This year Black Day falls on Friday, the holy day for Muslim community.
Security was beefed in all the areas of Hyderabad particularly Old City. The Police have prohibited every kind of procession, dharna, rally or public meetings and prohibit any individual/groups of individuals from making any speech, gesture or displaying pictures, symbols, placards, flags etc., which is likely to create religious animosity in the city. Finally with all the measures the day passed off peacefully.
