Once again Modi’s government ignores AP!

modi-parliamentIt is customary for the President of India to address a joint session of both the houses of parliament ahead of Budget session. The speech will be prepared by the government of India and will have a mention of all its priorities. The speech invoked big interest in people of Andhra Pradesh as they hoped some assurance from Modi’s government.

However President Pranab Mukherjee’s speech did not have a single mention of Andhra Pradesh. It went on plain about the government’s policies and government’s successes in the past nine months. The speech also did not have any mention about the newest state of the country, Telangana.

Now all eyes are on the financial budget and railway budget that will be put up at the end of this month. AP pinned high hopes on the budgets for Special Status, Packages, help for capital, Separate railway zone etc. Telangana is also expecting incentives and special packages.
