A statue of Legendary NT Ramarao as Lord Krishna is planned in Khammam by Minister Puvvada Ajay. The statue was supposed to be unveiled on the 28th of this month as NTR’s Jayanthi Special and on the occasion of NTR Centenary Celebrations.
NTR in Lord Krishna Getup was an absolute Gold and there are people who visualize the same appearance when they think of the Lord.
In history, Indira Gandhi was spotted praying with folded hands to a Krishna cutout of NTR thinking that it is real Krishna during the election campaign. NTR was her prime opponent back then.
Many households have a photo of Lord Sri Krishna (NTR Getup) in their houses and they do pooja.
But tens of petitions were filed in the High Court objecting to the statue.
A few dimwits of the Yadava community like Good for Nothing Karate Kalyani say this has hurt their sentiments and they will demolish the statue.
The high court issued a stay on the inauguration until the final judgment is out.
On the other hand, if we delve deep into the controversy, we only find it a joke.
The organizers are not erecting the statue of Sri Krishna as NTR. They are only erecting a statue of NTR resembling the Lord. Also, they are not keeping the statue in a temple. It is being erected in a Park.
After Superstar Krishna’s demise recently, we have seen many statues of him as Sita Rama Raju. Does that amount to insulting to the Legendary Freedom fighter? Did the Kshatriya community oppose such statues?
For every Vinayaka Chaviti, we have numerous statues of Lord Ganesh in various forms. We have seen Ganesh as a film character too. We did not see any backlash over such statues. Probably, there is no community owning up to Lord Ganesh?
This particular statue in Khammam is being put up by a BRS minister. Junior NTR was invited to unveil it. BJP has started this issue fearing political mileage to BRS especially with NTR coming for the inauguration.
We are in 2023, it’s time people and the so-called communities come forward and threaten dire consequences if their rights are snatched and if they are not taken care of by the politicians. Cribbing over statues and complaining about their sentiments getting hurt for simple reasons like this will definitely take them nowhere.
