Nandamuri Balakrishna, a three-time Hindupur MLA and renowned for his contributions through the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, was recently honored with the Padma Bhushan Award.

Strangely, this recognition has reignited hatred from a section of anti fans who seem unable to tolerate him being in the spotlight for positive reasons, driven by longstanding enmity or resentment built up over decades.

Balakrishna is one actor in Indian cinema who has endured relentless abuse and morphed images. While he has provided fodder for such negativity through his films, what sets him apart is his resilience—the criticism has never seemed to affect him.

However, following the Padma Award announcement, this faction has resumed their attacks, using abusive language that cannot be repeated here, driven by jealousy or hatred for reasons best known to them.

But, what’s particularly unacceptable is their attempt to spread false propaganda on social media, claiming that the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital is not free and accusing Balakrishna of profiting from it.

These toxic voices fail to understand the devastating impact cancer has on individuals and families, using this sensitive issue as a tool for their baseless accusations. They think cancer is just like a fever and are using it to abuse Balakrishna, with no knowledge of how expensive and dangerous it is.

Sadly, their abuses undermine the significance of the Cancer hospital’s work and the lives it has helped transform.

While the hatred towards Balakrishna had significantly subsided in recent years, it has now resurfaced—though not to the extent seen years ago. Still, this group of fans, unable to tolerate his success, is once again spitting venom on social media. A quick look at social media platforms makes their negativity evident.
