Pamarru: Varla’s Son Failing To Make An Impact

Pamarru constituency in Krishna district came into existence after delimitation in 2004. In all three elections that happened since then, TDP did not manage to open an account in this SC-reserved constituency.

Uppuleti Kalpana won on the YSR Congress ticket in 2014 and later joined TDP. She contested on a TDP ticket in 2019 but lost. She is inactive in the constituency since then.

Senior leader Varla Ramaiah’s son, Kumar Raja has been appointed as the incharge. Varla contested and lost in 2014 with a slender margin here.

Kumar Raja is not getting enough mileage in the constituency despite being active. He is not being influential here.

At the same time, there is not much anti-incumbency over Sitting MLA Kailae Anil Kumar.

Pamarru is a constituency that is the stronghold of Congress and later that votes shifted to the YSR Congress. Since it is a reserved constituency, the social calculations are also against TDP here.

The local cadre says the constituency needs the immediate attention of Chandrababu Naidu.
