The mandatory Police verification for issuance of Passport is going to be faster than ever in Hyderabad with the introduction of iPads with 3G connectivity. Hyderabad Police had issued 200 iPads with 3G connectivity to the verification officers of the special branch for speedy verification of Passport Particular Forms (PPFs).
The city Police processes One Lakh applications every year manually. With the introduction of these ipads and GPS-based user-friendly browser application called ‘VeriFast’, the verification time is expected to go down further.
The average time take for Police verification in Hyderabad in 61 days in 2012 and it is currently brought down to 6 days in this month. The city police are promising a maximum of one week to complete this formality going further. This process will very soon be extended to the entire Telangana very soon.
