Andhra Pradesh Government has increased prices of tickets marginally and has kept several conditions to give a further hike for costly films. Such films should apply to the Government and get the CM’s nod.
Regarding RRR, Cinematography Minister Perni Nani said, “Apart from the GST and the remunerations of the director and the cast, Rs 336 crore was spent on the film. Relevant authorities are currently examining the details and will send the file to the Chief Minister soon”.
He also added that the government will decide the special ticket price without any burden on the people.
Going by what the minister said the final decision about every film will be taken by the Chief Minister. No big film can release without that. If an obvious big film like RRR has to go all through this, just imagine what Pawan Kalyan films will have to face in the coming days.
Probably, the government will do everything to scare the producers from working with Pawan Kalyan. That will be a test of Pawan Kalyan’s star power. But then, going by the lineup of Pawan Kalyan now, it looks like the producers are still willing to take the gamble despite all these problems.
According to the conditions set by AP Government, 100 Crore films without remunerations are eligible for the hike if they are shot in AP at least for 20%.
The budget criteria itself do not fit Pawan Kalyan’s films. We will have to see if Pawan Kalyan will totally ignore the hike in AP and release films with existing rates.
