Peddireddy Seeks Another YSRCP Ticket For Family

YSRCP senior leader Peddi Reddy Ramachandra Reddy holds significant influence in Chittoor district, and his family has a strong presence in the party. However, the plan to have multiple family members contest elections from the same party raises questions of dynastic politics and may be a concern for the YSRCP leadership.

PeddiReddy is currently an MLA from Punganur Assembly, and his son Midhun Reddy is an MP from Rajampet. Additionally, his brother Dwarakanath Reddy is an MLA from the Tamballapalle segment.

Peddi Reddy’s reported intention to field his nephew Sudheer Reddy in the upcoming elections in Chittoor district is in line with a broader trend in YSRCP, where several leaders are seeking to promote their family members in politics.

For example, Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has secured approval from YS Jagan to field his son Mohit Reddy as a YSRCP candidate from Chandragiri. Other leaders in the party, such as Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and Deputy CM Narayana Swamy, are also considering promoting their family members in politics.

However, it’s worth noting that YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been selective in granting such requests. For instance, he reportedly rejected Perni Nani’s request to field his son in the elections.

Whether YS Jagan accepts the request from Peddi Reddy and other YSRCP leaders to promote their family members in the coming elections will likely depend on various factors, including the party’s overall strategy, the perception of dynastic politics, and the specific circumstances surrounding each request.
