Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, who’s running for the Guntur Lok Sabha seat in Andhra Pradesh with the Telugu Desam Party, is one of the richest candidates in the country. He recently talked about the big problem: the alcohol being sold in Andhra Pradesh.
He says he is concerned that people are dying young, some as young as 25-30 years old, because of cheap alcohol consumption in AP.
He said, “It is normal for people to develop health problems after 60 years due to regular consumption of alcohol. But in Andhra Pradesh, people are dying at the age of 25-30 years due to the harmful alcohol being sold under YS Jagan’s government.”
He’s upset that the government isn’t testing it properly to keep people safe. He’s concerned that if the alcohol sold by the government was checked, it would reveal awful and shocking things.
Chandrasekhar wants all liquor factories in Andhra Pradesh to undergo strict quality checks. He says the current process of making alcohol involves dangerous chemicals that can cause cancer and harm the liver and kidneys.
He pointed out, “Andhra Pradesh, new liquor brands owned by ruling party leaders are being introduced, and the government controls all alcohol sales. This monopoly leads to illegal sales and many families suffer because breadwinners are dying from harmful alcohol.”
He also talked about how drugs are ruining young lives in Andhra Pradesh, blaming the current government for being greedy.
