The bags have the logo ‘Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan vidya mitra’ on them, after the great academician and former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It is known that Teacher’s Day is celebrated in his honour.
Ever since the alliance government has come to power, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh has been striving to rectify the wrongs done by the previous Jagan government in the education sector. Lokesh lessened the burden of students by introducing lesser books so that they don’t have to carry heavy bags. The Minister also introduced book-free Saturdays where the students get to participate in co-curricular activities.
