Pitapuram TDP Incharge SVSN Varma revolted against the TDP High Command after Pawan Kalyan announced contesting from his constituency. Varma‘s followers created ruckus at the party office in Pitapuram after the announcement.
They burned the flags and party material. They also badmouthed Chandrababu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan for the decision in filthy language. The videos of the arson became viral on social media and WhatsApp.
However, this backfired on Varma, sources in the Pitapuram say. Local public and TDP cadre had sympathy on Varma after ticket was denied for him after so much of hardwork.
But then, all that got vanished after his followers did not even spare Chandrababu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan. TDP sympathizers disowned Varma and also the Kapu Community for his comments on Pawan Kalyan.
Locals say that Varma is unlikely to get the votes of TDP sympathizers or Kapu Community after yesterday’s incident. Even if he contests as an independent, he will only get the votes of YSR Congress sympathizers.
Chandrababu Naidu called Varma and asked to meet him in Undavalli but he defied. He is conducting a meeting of his followers in Pitapuram. Meanwhile, YSR Congress is trying to lure him into the party.
