While Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for one more agitation phase for the Special Status with Opposition leader’s fast unto death, center is singing the old song on the Special Status issue. Telangana Congress MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy wrote a letter to the Prime Minister on the Special Status issue.

Planning Minister Rao Indrajit Singh wrote him a reply reiterating the old stance on the issue. Rao Indrajit mentioned that AP, Rajasthan, Odisha, Telangana and Bihar are requesting for the Special Status. He said that Special Status can be only given to those states with hilly terains, financial issues and others.
The letter had an indirect indication that Special Status is not possible to all of these states. Gutta is one MP who is opposing Special Status to AP from day one as it will affect investments in Telangana. He is the one who brought the issue of Special Status to Telangana in case AP is given that.
