If the media reports coming in are to be believed, the Prime Minister’s office had ordered an inquiry in to the phone tapping allegations on Telangana government made by Andhra Pradesh. It is said that the PMO directed the concerned departments in Home Ministry and Telecom Ministry to look in to the allegations and submit a report very soon.

This comes after hours of Chandrababu Naidu’s tour in Delhi where he met the President, Prime Minister and the Home Minister regarding this issue and demanded a probe. If Telangana government soils its hands in this case, then Center may impose Section 8 of Reorganization Act which gives Governor the responsibilities of the Law and Order in the common capital.
Phone Tapping Cases are usually very serious. In 1988, Karnataka Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde was forced to resign over the allegations of phone tapping on opposition parties and businessmen in the state. This case is proven can be even dangerous as tapping the phones of other state Chief Minister is not easily acceptable.
