PM's foreign tours to put burden on taxpayers!

Narendra Modi canada tour expensesPrime Minister Narendra Modi has been visiting several foreign countries recently for building better relations or other reasons and the most recent one, a three-day trip to Canada, was also to create bonding between the two countries. However, these visits, planned for the maximum comfort, also cost a lot. The Canada trip alone cost the taxpayers more than $373,000, about $17,600 of which was spent on beverages, $106,400 on a motorcade, and $80,000 on receptions.

Aside from those, the costs included $73,213 on public servants’ travel, $1,584 on gifts, $3,656,54 on flowers and wreaths, $14,790 on health services, $10,448 on hotel rooms, $5,981 on interpreters and translation, $30,000 on audio visual equipment, $21,708 on unspecified consultants, $75 for a flag, and an arena costing $600,000. The details about these prices were revealed under the Access to Information Act and excluded the security costs.

According to sources, there has been a lot of disagreement to this type of lavish behaviour with rumours stating that some of the travel and security costs paid by taxpayers should be paid back.
