The state government which claims to have brought uninterrupted power supply to the city, is imposing the power cuts to far flung areas so as to avoid media glare. Many places are seeing power cuts between 15 minutes and two hours during the day. To make things worse, all these power cuts are not scheduled and people are not informed.

The cited demand for this month is average consumption of 41 million units a day which is few million units higher than last year. But the demand already crossed the estimation and is peaking at 46 million units in the second week.
