Durgamcheruvu Cable-stayed Bridge in Hyderabad has become a landmark in the city. The majestic bridge is now a popular symbol of the KCR Government’s infrastructure development in Hyderabad city.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wants something like that for himself as well. It is not a problem to be ambitious but it is important to reach the standards.
The Government had constructed a similar bridge in Jagan’s Pulivendula. The bridge is ready for inauguration and YSR Congress released a drone visual of the bridge.
But it has become fodder for trolls. A cable-stayed bridge has one or more towers (or pylons), from which cables support the bridge deck.
But then in the Pulivendula Cable Bridge, there are pylons and cables just for the namesake and they are decorated with LED lights.
Social media users call it a cheap clone of the Durgamcheruvu Cable-stayed Bridge. Some users point out how two cables of the bridge are snapped.
“It is not a cable bridge if you dig two poles and keep LED strip rope lights to them,” another user commented.
Jagan may have intended to overshadow KTR with this cable bridge but he only became a joke
