
Ex Congress prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s Statue will be erected in New Delhi. A decision to this affect was taken by Delhi Urban Art Commission recently.

NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Corporation) proposed erecting the statue in Telangana Bhavan and Delhi Urban Art Commission gave many suggestions. Now, the decision has to be finally approved by the Union Cabinet.
Incidentally, the Telangana state government headed by Revanth Reddy is proposing to construct a new Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi. As of now, the Telangana Bhavan and Andhra Bhavan are together and the Telangana Bhavan people feel it would not be feasible to erect PV’s statue.

Meanwhile, the PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Foundation has requested NDMC to erect the statue near the combined AP CM Prakasam Pantulu’s statue in AP, Telangana Bhavan.
The proposal was sent to Delhi Urban Art Commission and it okayed the proposal. The NDA government has already built a memorial and conferred Bharat Ratna on late PV Narasimha Rao.

The Prime Minister or other high-ranking Cabinet member is likely to attend the inauguration. In the past, the Congress government behaved disrespectfully towards PV Narasimha Rao. They did not allow for his statue to be erected in their office.
The Congress also did not allow for his last rites to be carried out in New Delhi. It is the NDA government that gave PV Narasimha Rao his due respect.
