The bench comprising justice Abhay S Oka, justice Pankaj Mittal will be replaced by justice BV Nagaratna and justice Sateesh Chandrasarma. The Supreme Court changed the registry which comes as a huge boost to Raghurama Raju.

In May 2021, the then MP Raghurama Raju was arrested on sedition charges by the YSRCP government. He was booked for allegedly making inflammatory and violence-inciting comments.

At the time, Raghurama Raju filed a petition in High Court claiming custodial violence. He named YS Jagan and other officers who interrogated him in the matter. Raju had claimed an attempt of murder was made against him by Jagan and his officers.
