
During the meeting, Rahul Gandhi inquired about the status of the CBI cases against Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. He commented that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are using Jaganmohan Reddy in the context of these cases.
The state Congress leaders informed him that there has been no significant progress in the cases against Jaganmohan Reddy.
Rahul Gandhi expressed his view that the BJP and Modi are exploiting Jaganmohan Reddy for political purposes. He made it clear that if the Congress comes to power, appropriate action will be taken regarding these cases.
Additionally, Rahul Gandhi assured the leaders that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) will support the efforts to prevent the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
The Congress leaders present during the meeting highlighted the ongoing efforts to block the privatization of the Visakha Steel Plant and handed over a petition to Rahul Gandhi requesting his support in fighting against the privatization at the AICC level.
The Visakha Steel Conservation Committee also urged Rahul Gandhi to visit Visakhapatnam to show his support for the agitation against privatization.
