Padayatra is a very popular Political activity for Telugu people. Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy with his Padayatra became the Chief Minister of the then United State for the first time and later led the state for two terms. Later Chandrababu Naidu took the same route and got in to power for the divided Andhra Pradesh.
And now Sonia Gandhi’s scion, Rahul Gandhi seem to be taking the route. He is all set to take up Padayatra from Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh to Varanasi (Modi’s constituency). Congress party hopes that this Padayatra will help Congress to come to Power in Uttar Pradesh during the upcoming Assembly elections.
However all those who take up Padayatra are not winners, there are people like YS Sharmila who ended up on the losing side too. We will have to see where Rahul Gandhi leads Congress to!
