Rajini Fires Back: I Would Be Jealous Only if Kamal Became CM!

Rajinikanth Vijay politics reaction statement

After days of political speculation and social media debates, Rajinikanth has finally responded to the backlash and allegations surrounding Vijay becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The Superstar decided to break his silence after rumors began spreading that he was unhappy with Vijay’s political rise and was indirectly trying to stop him from reaching the top post.

Speaking to the media, Rajinikanth said he felt compelled to respond because staying silent would make people believe the rumors were true. He strongly denied claims that his recent meeting with Stalin had any political agenda behind it. According to Rajinikanth, Stalin has been his close friend for nearly four decades and the meeting happened purely out of friendship.

The actor dismissed accusations that he worked behind the scenes against Vijay’s political journey. He stated clearly that he would never indulge in such “cheap politics” and said people who know him personally understand his character very well.

Rajinikanth also addressed backlash over not publicly congratulating Vijay after the election victory. He clarified that he had already posted his wishes on X immediately after the results were announced. Explaining a viral airport clip that triggered controversy online, he said a random individual suddenly informed him about Vijay’s victory and he did not even realize cameras were recording it as a media interaction.

The Superstar completely rejected allegations of jealousy. He reminded everyone that he had already stepped away from politics long ago and therefore had no reason to feel threatened by Vijay becoming Chief Minister. Rajinikanth also pointed out that comparing him with Vijay politically or professionally does not make sense because there is a nearly 25 to 28-year age difference between them.

In a lighter moment, Rajinikanth joked that he might have felt jealous if Kamal Haasan had become Chief Minister instead. The comment instantly grabbed attention online and added some humor to an otherwise tense political discussion.

At the same time, Rajinikanth praised Vijay’s achievement in a very strong manner. He called Vijay’s political victory “a happiness mixed with wonder” and said defeating two major political forces independently at the age of 52 was an extraordinary achievement. According to him, even legendary leaders like MG Ramachandran and Sr. NTR did not face exactly the same kind of political situation during their rise.

Rajinikanth further said the people of Tamil Nadu clearly voted for change and placed huge expectations on Vijay. He also cautioned that such massive public expectations come with pressure because even a small mistake can have a major political impact.

Concluding his remarks, Rajinikanth said he genuinely believes Vijay will work for the welfare of the people and fulfill the trust placed in him. He extended his heartfelt wishes to the new Chief Minister and wished him success in leading the state.
