Ramalinga Raju and Brother and the other convicts in the Multi Crore Satyam fraud case are kept in separate barracks of Cherlapally Jail. It is said that Ramalinga Raju and brothers refused to watch TV there and requested the jail authorities for barracks with out Television provision.
Ramalinga Raju and brothers reportedly do not want to watch the News about them on TV and so made such request. They were shifted to barracks in which TVs are not working due to repairs. Ramalinga Raju spent his first day in jail reading CBI documents and other devotional literature.
Along with Ramalinga Raju, there are 17 others convicts, some of them are arrested in Dowry harassment case. Ramalinga Raju and nine others were given seven years rigorous imprisonment. Ramalinga Raju and his brothers were also awarded with 7 Crore penalty.
