Telugu Desam Party is charged after the recent election victory. The Red Book implementation has also started and they are elated about paying back for all the insults meted out in the last five years.
Telugu Desam Party High Command had rightly started the Membership Drive at this moment. The party announced that it has completed 50 Lakh Membership in just 29 days which is a record in the party’s history.
The accident insurance, which was previously two lakhs with a membership of Rs 100, has now been increased to five lakhs. The cadre is working enthusiastically with the implementation of a system to directly identify hard-working workers in the referral system.
TDP has the strongest cadre among the parties in Telugu land but then, it should target even bigger.
At this juncture, TDP should build an army like the RSS.
The foot soldiers of RSS work really hard for the BJP. They penetrate into the grassroots and inject the ideology favoring the BJP. The Saffron Party won some of the toughest elections with the help of the RSS.
The best example is the recent Maharashtra elections. It is one of the toughest elections due to the complex politics unleashed after the BJP split the Shiv Sena and the NCP. But BJP won with a massive majority.
The RSS is connected to the BJP due to the Hindutva Ideology. This is not the case with the TDP.
The Health Insurance is a good initiative to help the cadre. In the last five years, the cadre was helped to the tune of 135 Crores.
TDP operates NTR School and Junior College where the children of deceased cadre are admitted for free.
Balakrishna helps needy cadre with discounted or free treatment in his cancer hospital.
Recently Narayana announced a cadre welfare fund with a 10 Crore Rupees Corpus. He also extended free medical treatment to all the cadres in his hospital. He also applied for 100 Liquor shops paying 2 Lakh Rupees application fee for each shop.
The shops that he got in the lottery went to the most active and needy cadre in the constituency to make them financially independent.
Politics have become so costly. Rich people and Businessmen are getting tickets.
The leaders with businesses should offer special discounts (if possible free) for the cadre.
These discounts should be institutionalized. We know leaders help cadre when they reach out. But there should be a blanket offer to every member. Holding the membership card should be a privilege.
Mainly, the help should be offered in Health and Education which are the major expenses for the poor and middle-class.
While in power, the cadre should also be helped with government schemes, small loans for businesses, etc.
If the needy are helped, the cadre will become very loyal and will work hard for the party. That way, a strong army on the lines of RSS can be built.
There are leaders like Minister Ramanaidu who go to every house of the cadre for every family function and are always one call away. This will also make the cadre close to the leaders. Lokesh’s Praja Darbar is also a very good idea.
More leaders should be encouraged to be very accessible to the people. People should think leaders are like their kith and kin who are always available for their needs and welfare. When such belief is inculcated, they will put blood and sweat on the party.
If TDP can build such a strong army of at least 50,000 members in every constituency, they can literally dictate the election results.
