Reddys Dominate YSR Congress Candidates List

YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced the candidates for all the 175 Assembly and 25 Parliament Seats at one go a little while ago at his father’s Ghat in Idupulapaya Estate. Very much on expected lines, Reddy Community (Jagan’s Own Community) leaders dominated both the lists.

51 Seats were given to Reddys out of the 175 constituencies. If we take out the reserved constituencies, they walked away with a major number of seats in all General Constituencies. Out of the total 52 constituencies in Rayalaseema, Reddys got a whopping 33 seats which translates to around 64% seats in Rayalaseema.

When it comes to MP seats, Six out of the 25 MPs belongs to the community. Reddy community which is traditionally the vote bank of Congress shifted en masse to YSR Congress after the demise of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and the downfall of Congress. Like in the case of 2014 elections, YSRCP gave a majority seats to them.

YSR Congress has taken this election very seriously. It is very difficult for a new regional party to sustain without power for about a decade. Also, Jagan is being suffocated by numerous cases pending. If YSR Congress does not come to power and it Congress supported Government comes up in the Center, life will become miserable.
