Relief to KCR Following Whistle Blower's Murder

Former CM has got huge relief in Kaleswaram project case filed by Rajalingamurthy. With the murder and subsequent death of the petitioner, we cannot proceed with the case said the Judge reviewing it.

Rajalingamurthy had filed a petition alleging huge corruption during the construction of RS 1 lakh crore Kaleswaram project resulting in the sinking of Medigadda barrage.

Murthy had filed the petition in Bhupalapalli and it went to the High Court. Even as the case was in hearing, Rajalingamurthy died under suspicious conditions.

As the case came to hearing, the Judge wondered how they can go ahead with proceedings as the petitioner died.

In fact, the death of Rajalingamurthy comes as a big relief to KCR, Megha Krishna Reddy, KTR and Harish Rao. Several hearings on the case took place in the past in the High Court.

Summons were given in a lower court to KCR and Harish Rao. But they got the case transferred to the High Court.

Yesterday, on February 20, the case came for hearing. The Judge felt they could not take the case further due to petitioner’s death. But the case can be taken further under Section CRPC 256 argued the public prosecutor.

However, the Judge dismissed this argument by saying that the Section does not apply here.

When the public prosecutor asked the case to be considered as PIL, the Judge questioned as to why Rajalingamurthy had special interest in the matter when there were 4 crore people.

When the public prosecutor insisted they will present further hearings, the case has been postponed to February 24.

There is strong political gossip that the murder of Rajalingamurthy was orchestrated to stop the case from proceeding further.
