Remodeled iconic buildings next month

Basing on the feedback of the people, Andhra Pradesh government had decided to make changes for the designs of the icon buildings coming up in Amaravati. There is a negative feedback on the designs proposed for Assembly, Secretariat and High Court by Maki Associates of Japan. Municipal Minister Narayana held a meeting in Vijayawada with famous architects in the country.

The state government asked the architects to come up with their models in three weeks time. It is also said that government is also considering terminating the contract of Maki Associates. A decision on that will be taken once the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is back from his Swiss visit.

Chandrababu Naidu is keen to complete the construction of the core capital by 2018 and want it to showcase as an achievement for 2019 elections. This is a very tough ask for the state reeling under the pressure of severe financial crunch. An insensitive Center is only adding to its woes.
